Looks like you have a smiths pressure switch PS5314 I have this one fitted to my suffix c diesel engine. I would have thought the original would have been an AC brand.
Hi everyone,
I need an oil pressure switch for my warning light (Series 1, 1958, 88", 12V, 2.0 ltr, Petrol)and found this on eBay (link). Does anyone know about this switch?
Advertised as:
Intermotor Oil Pressure Switch No 5052
Land Rover Series I II & III 2.0 2.25 2.6 53-84
New and Boxed
But seller can't answer if this is for oil pressure gauge or oil pressure warning light. He says to assume it is for the warning light... Anyone?
This is my old one:
Markings (which are not clear anymore):
PS
53/4 (not sure)
This is the one on offer:
(FYI, this is the seller (link) and price is UKP 4.25)
Thanks,
Kris

Thanks,...
I had two switches supplied. One by Rover Parts in Ballarat and the other by the eBay shop I mentioned. Both of them were almost identical.
Both of them had the same size thread... which was too small.
So I am still looking for an oil pressure switch....
I double checked my engine number block (111808213) which is original, and the hole doesn't seem to be enlarged or rethreaded. So I am not sure why these guys told me their replacements were the correct ones.
Anyone know where I can get a replacement for this appearant Smiths oil pressure switch?
What is the "AC" brand mentioned in the last post?
Thanks,
Kris

the AC switch No is WS-5
6-10 lbs
AC No 7954375
Rover part No R519863.........Mark
AC-Delco division of General motors ltd.
Ah, thanks. I found it as well. However, in my parts catalogue 4107, Series 1, 1954-1958 it says:
Oil Pressure Switch:
AC Delco part number 7954021 (contaced them, is no longer listed in their database, unavailable, same for 7954375)
Land Rover part number 505152
And it seems that Rover Parts in Ballarat advised me correctly when they said: " Oil pressure switch 505152 use 90519864 which is for 2 1/4 petrol but suitable for 2.0 petrol also"
Anyone used the 90519864? Your feedback?
Could it be that the Smiths replacement I took out of my engine enlarged the thread when it was put in?
Thanks guys!
Why not use an adaptor which are available from most auto parts sellers and use the ones you have bought.

Ill have a look in my spares horde i may have a good s/h one that you could use.
Thanks,
That would be great. It is the last thing I need before re-registering it. Except for a new paint job. But I'll figure that one out after getting it on the road again.
Thanks!
