    Chasis Number Location

    Hello rock n' rovers
I've recently acquired what we think is a Series 2 Long Wheel Base Land Rover.

We are having difficulty locating the chassis number.
The vehicle plate is missing and the vehicle has a Holden 186 motor.

If it is an Australian assembled one, the number is on the side facing out of the bracket that the shackle attaches to at the LH rear of the LH back spring.

    Wot he said.

You may need a wire brush to reveal the number and failing that something flat like a points file lightly rubbed over the area to bring up the numbers.

If nothing is found in that location, U.K. built SIIa/SIII Land Rovers are stamped on the outside face of the front RHS spring hanger bracket.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
