I'm not at home, so I can't check, but I would have thought they were 2BA. If not, they are probably UNF, unlikely but possible BSF.

						Hi All
Could somebody be able to help me with the correct thread size for mounting the Instrument Panel on a series 2a. I wish to buy some taps and die nut. I tried my 2BA and 3BA die nuts but screw thread is different. The screws look like original pan head type.
Regards
Mike

G'day All, If you are referring to the main instrument panel where it is attached to the top rail of the dash/bulkhead, then they are 2BA on S1, S2/2A, also the other panels i.e. military and civvie options, the bottom screws are 2BA with hex/nuts, the top screws are the ones that hold the vent/regulator and they are a type of square thread speed nut, hope that helps, if your dash is different it has been modified by a previous ownercheers Dennis
2BA gets my vote also, but who is to say what butchery one of the previous owners may have done.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Best source in Oz for BA taps, dies, fasteners, is Bruce Gardner, B.S.F. Bolts in Melbourne, 0408 056 255. Also, contact Bruce for BSW, BSF, BSC nuts and bolts. I don't handle BA bits, insufficient demand for an extra supplier.
Bruce has a large stock of high speed steel BA taps and dies, even some left hand items.

Where is a good place to get UNF bolts? I think Canberra is devoid of a place to get older bits & pieces like bolts etc.
thanks
Steve
Most reputable bolt and nut suppliers should stock UNF.

What part of Canberra? (North or South?)
Specialty Fasteners is easier if you are in the south.
I use Nuts Bolts and Screws in Mitchell. (but I'm in the north)
