For my series 3 I paid 19 pounds each + delivery without glass and they were delivered within the week for around $60.00 total...baily chanels were around 2 pounds each

We priced baily channel from clark rubber around $8.00 per metre it is a heavy plastic not metal which would not rust

Was this a long time ago or on sale though? I think given the $100+ each they sell for in Australia, if I could bring in pairs for $60 I'd be importing them all day long and sell them on ebay for a tidy sum!

With the bailey channel from Clarks, did you actually use it on a series door top and did it work adequately? Given that it isn't rigid like the original, I'd be worried it wouldn't hold the glass in at the top and side. Maybe installing it in alloy chaneling like the original might work?

Just looked it up.... door tops 1958-1984 20.75 pounds each no glass so have gone up in price since I bought them.

We got a sample of the bailey channel and it seems it would hold adequately, though you would maybe have glue it in.

Which UK supplier has them for this? I looked at a few and on google and couldn't find any that cheap. And are they any good quality wise?

My door tops arrived yesterday and they fit perfectly

The welding on them is superb and everything about them seems fine; especially the price of $148 landed at my door for the pair!

I had intended to make my own but buying the steel and paying for access to a guillotine and bender would have cost me more!

Highly recommended - thanks Peter for this extremely useful tip

    Cheers Charlie

Good to know they are good quality. I am waiting for mine to arrive. How long did yours take to get here? Mine cost $151! Exchange rates!!!I have another parcel coming of some other bits which was dispatched from the UK on Friday and has arrived in australia and cleared customs yesterday. Pretty quick for $16 postage when it costs twice that to post from Brisbane to Perth and takes a week or more.

What did you buy, and where from, that only cost $16 in postage?

    Peter
