Thread: Skirt Panels on 1 Ton Tray

My 71 2a sports some narrow ones.. ~75mm

Thats interesting. I can source some of the 121mm ones from a donor vehicle, but I had been told that the 121mm were the later version, and the early ones were even wider.

If the later ones are 75mm and the early ones were 121mm then my problem is solved.

Hi mate, not sure where you are or if you still want to put skirts on your car but if you're near Melbourne I've got a pair for a 2A LWB that are in ok nick and they're yours if you pick em up.

Hello from Brisbane.

If the sills are for a tray top model, and you want to keep close to authenticity, there may a slight catch with the rear galvanised angle strips that hold the rear panels of the truck body to the rear after-sides.

These strips extended the full length from the top of cab tub to the bottom of the sill panel. If your sills are missing then these angles may have been shortened.

The attached photo is of my late Dad's Series 2A.

YES those galv strips have been shortened but won't be hard to extend.

I now have panels (thnx Jimmy!) that I can use but I need brackets: 1 (one) of those that is fixed to the panel via 3 spot welds & 4 (four) that bolt to those panels & to the body.

I've had no joy from the AULRO classifieds.

Can anyone help?
