Hi All,
I was sanding back (in preparation for cleaning/painting) my front diff. (Restoring my 1961 - Series 2 - Petrol)
I discovered the Serial Number on the front of the diff.
If you look closely it appears that some of the numbers have been over written - at a guess I would say that it was a mistake corrected at the factory?
What do you think? Is this normal or common? Unusual?
Very unusual, but given that an 1961 88" SI1 number has been overstamped with a 1961 109" SII makes the odds more likely that it is a factory correction.
I have a pair of 569204 rims that have been overstamped from 569203 centres, in fact one rim is overstamped then stamped a second time with the 569204.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
