			Attaching Prop-shaft to Park Brake
		
 
			
				
					Holy Moley what a PITA!
 
 The nuts are very fiddly to attach & they drop into the yoke webbing & jam.
 
 When on, there is about 15mm of thread to fit a nyloc nut x4 & I could only manage 1 flat at a time with an OE spanner. It's the sort of job you don't start without a cut lunch.
 
 THERE HAS TO BE A BETTTER WAY!
 
 I remember a trick to replacing spark plugs in air cooled VW's: using a length of rubber hose to hold the plug while you located it in the hole & got the thread started. So! A short length of thin garden hose, a blast of the hot air gun or hair drier to soften the rubber & push the nut on. You now have an extension with the feel you need to attach the nuts.
 
 I rummaged around for a cheapy 9/16ths socket, cut the drive off, welded a nut onto the splined end then welded a bolt to the nut. Cowabunga! An extension that fits past the yokes & can be driven by an air ratchet.

					Hello from Brisbane.
 
 Sounds like you found an indigenous solution to a tricky fitting problem. Good outcome.
 
 However, for what it us worth after the event, there are special driveshaft sockets available in the UK (e.g. DLS on eBay) that are intended to achieve the same result with less grief.

					Well shoot! I just "re-invented the wheel" again.
 
 For those that don't own a welder, this may be of interest:

 That's not a bad link.
 
 For those that have a welder, I guess this will be a case of spending  5 bucks and 10 minutes of your time vs 30 bucks & waiting two weeks, hey?
 
 DLS is right: the gizmo works on prop shafts but only at the diffs & park brake. The transfer case one has  to be done the slow way due to a lack of room. But 3 out of 4 is not bad.
