    hello landy bretherin
    im Back
how hard could it be to convert a single system brake master cylinder to a dual system?
****a **** ... just elongate the hole of the pedal box, bolt up the new stuffya bought then get some brake lines made up and a way you go.....
defender brake pedal box bolt holes line up with the original ones !!!
well whodda thunkin .. no elongating the mounting holes .. yeeharrr!!
(with every high there's a LOW...)
the top of the pedal box sits when mounted too high and too close to the guard
therefore the defender brake booster is too big (booster approx 250mm diameter... edge of pedal box frame to top edge of mudguard 35mm... about the same to the top of the bonnet when closed)
conversely there ain't no room then to fit master cylinder...
    not bloody happy jan
    so.........
has any body out there have any ideas?
id just love to here them
ohmmmmm, ohmmmm, oohmmmm.... no... that **** isnt workin either
    cheers

What about a late series 3 master cylinder? They were dual circuit, that way you should be able to use the standard pedal assembly and it should clear bonnet and line up with the bulkhead mounts. You may need the top panel from the wing though as they have a larger cutout for clearance.

The late Series 3 assembly is a bolt-in replacement, except that it will foul the panel between the footwell and the top of the mudguard. This was modified on the Series 3 (and is no longer just a flat sheet of metal) for just this purpose, to clear a dual master cylinder.

You can fit the Series 3 panel , but the attachment on the mudguard is in the wrong place - either fit an additional bracket to the top of the mudguard to accommodate it, or, modify the panel to fit the existing bracket with some sort of spacer - it is out of sight.

I also need a brake booster set up for my SIII 100" cause of the disc brakes, does anyone know where I could find a pedal box and booster in usable condition.

Early model Holden commodore booster and m/cyl fits a series 3 pedal box, although this is a S3 firewall I think it should also fit a Series 2 firewall

Dont remember exact model but I built the Landy in about '87 so the commodore was earlier than that.

you can configuire the master cyl for discs all round / or drums all round or discs front / drums rear by the addition / removal of a valve on the pipe port.

only issue is the fluid reservoir dosent sit level but never found it a problem, and I had to chop the top of the guard to make it fit, (tinsnips) thats a really botch job of a bit of old tyre tube to protect the sharp edges and to stop the tyre splashing all the mud up there, as there is no inner guard on Series models like there is on a Defender.

    (btw its a Cleveland 302)

This was modified on the suffix H SIIa where the six cylinder had the booster on the pedal box.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
