IIa 63 mod 5 door safari!! Price?

    Hi there.
my uncle has a 1963 Model series IIa 5 door safari that he wants to get rid of. I want to buy it off him but have no idea what its worth, nor does he.
Its got the original 4cly petrol which still turns over. It drove fine probably 5 yrs ago when we used to take it to morton island. Its in fair condition, few, dents, rust etc. It also has the tropical roof.
    any ideas what its worth??
    thanks
    Christian

Impossible to give a price - dependent entirely on condition. $500-$5000 If original - i.e. not extensively "improved" and free from rust (look carefully at especially the rear crossmember and the firewall), has all ten seats and upholstery present and in good condition, it may be towards the higher end. If bits missing, rust present or modifications, it will be towards the low end. If it is a good specimen, I would regard that model as desirable, and they are fairly rare. John

All 5 door wagons "should" have the tropical roof and full trim inside. If it doesn't have the trim on doors, firewall and pillars etc, the value will be much less,

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    Both 10 and 12 seaters.

The main difference between the 10 seat and the 12 seat is that the 12 seat had three individual seats in the second row and a longer bench on each side in the rear. I think the 12 people needed to be Pygmies!

The twelve seater was a UK market special, built to exploit a tax loophole (sold as a bus), and although I am sure there are a few of these in Australia, I have never actually seen one. While on that subject, even the 10 seater in NSW is designated a bus and as such attracts six monthly roadworthiness inspections by the RMS. John
