    2.25L petrol starter motor replacement

My 17 yo son is nearing the end of a re-build on a 2.25L Petrol engine out of wrecked Series 2 or 2a. She's chock full of new parts but we're having problems sourcing a working LUCAS Starter Motor - can anyone suggest a suitable replacement. A search here mentioned a ERR5009N is suitable for series 3 - might that extend to the Series 2 ??

Hello Peter, fancy meeting you here should've known eh!
Thanks for the offer, I reckon that you'll be well pleased at the progress young Ray has made on the engine so far. I will be in touch with you.... Onebob

Hmmmm! a HOLDEN bolt on, now that'd be a very handy alternative, would like more info on that!!

Coincidently my brother's Starter died on his S3 in The Simpson 2 weeks ago, he thanks the LR gods for providing the crank which got a good work over

Thanks for the positive response ..... i may be in touch soon
