The fun begins, a series II A 88" project

    Howdy,
I've been a long time stalker but decided to finally get a project. I have a series 3 a few years ago but an interstate move resulted into giving it away before I got a chance to do anything with it.

I have just negotiated on this Series 2 A 88". This was on flea bay last week but didn't sell. I realised that it was literally about 1 km down the road so went and has a look and a deal was done. Plenty of work to do but appears to have had some resto work previously. Most panels are in good condition. There are a few missing though. The chassis has no rust, been subject to previous repair work. I will get a few better pics when I pick it up on the weekend. Will stick a wanted to buy post up shortly with my list of parts required.

Current plan is a basic rebuild, gather all missing parts build it, rego it and cruze for chicks in in......

These pics are from the listing, but will add more when I get em

Looks like a good project, my first Land Rover was also a late 2a and close to your chassis number; 24316620G

I think these late 2a's are the best Landys ever made I still have mine and will never get rid of it.

One problem you might find is that legally you can only carry two chicks in it!

Well I picked the beast up today and dragged it home. What have I got myself into? Where its good, it is good but where its bad, it is really bad. Typical rust as expected. 10/1970 build date.
Have already gathered an extended shopping list of panels requires.

Chassis needs a new rear end. Appears to have been replaced/patched but well beyond repairable now.

Front Chassis rails will need a few repairs as well

Passenger side footwell has a few holes

Door tops a shot, and door bottoms will need repairs

    Waiting to fly

    Front radiator panel is shot

Need to buy a few parts now.. All series 2a, I'm located in Brisbane and happy to travel if required. I know a lot of these parts I can purchase new but worth a shot. Let me know what you have and $$ your after.

    Front bumper
    Front Valence
    Front radiator support panel
radiator (even if a re-core is required)
Front grill (mine looks like it has been used to cook steak via open fire on it)
Front headlight trim for both lights
Front and rear indicator, brake, park lights ect (lenses and bases)
    Front bonnet
Complete wiring loom (mine has been removed and the left overs completely hacked)
Complete speedo panel with speedo, switches ect
door tops (I know but gotta give it a shot anyway)
rear glass for hard top rear door.
Im sure this list will grow!
