Which reminds me, I lost the pax side wiper coming back from levuka.
Normally would have stopped and tried to pick it up, but when you have six k's uphill in first, wasn't stopping ,
Anybody know a supplier of original (or original appearance) wiper arms and blades for early IIAs? I am happy to get sprung blades too, as long as they have the original bright finish (as opposed to the black finish aftermarket ones).
Thanks,
John
Not sure where you would get them from? eBay maybe but you will probably pay a premium. Your best bet would be in the wrecking notices on this forum as 2a's come up from time to time.
I've got S3 wipers on mine, which had to be trimmed a smidgen in order to do a full sweep but they do a better job IMO... not that it rains that often hereI've painted mine during the build I've been doing which seems to have come up ok, although I haven't fitted them to the car yet. I really should add a picture in that thread
I guess it depends what you are after. Originality or improved functionality ... I'm not sure you can have both!
Hmmmm. This sort of looks like what I want. But you're right: not cheap....

Whoops, sorry - missed Gromit's earlier wiper thread. Sorry for the double-up.
Then again, mine's a '65....
Just a handy tip that you probably already knew about - with the very limited effectiveness of 1960-era windscreen wipers, a bottle of rain-x makes driving in rain a bit safer. Water just slides off the glass and visibility is greatly improved, even when wipers are barely adequate.
I replaced the wipers on DaOot & may still have the original ones floating around you can have.
I'll have a look & let you know
