    Wiper part numbers

    Morning fellas,

I'm having a bit of a problem trying to figure out the part numbers of some bits of the wiper system.

At the moment Bill's wipers consist of 2 boat motors from Witworths. Whilst they do the job, I'd like something that looks a little more OEM.

Now according the the parts book and LR manual, it used the single motor with a flexible spiral gear to connect to 2 wheel boxes on the bulkhead/windscreen.
Now I can find an engine, the wheel boxes, gear cable, and spindles, but for the life of me I can't seem to find any of the outer tubing the spiral gear runs through.
Craddocks list a part from the motor to the first wheel box (but for LH drive) cars and the final end piece after the 2nd wheel box.
The part numbers listed in the LR 2a parts manual bring up nothing when searching on any of the usual suspects.
Anyone know whether the outer tubing would be listed under Series3 part numbers?

I've got no wiper components apart from the cover the wiper motor lives behind and the cowling that attached to the dash, both are sitting in a box atm.

    Cheers

If it has two "boat motors" it probably is pre suffix D - and should have two separate motors, not the single motor and cable drive to two wipers. The exact separate motors are, as far as I know, no longer available new. Second hand ones are almost certainly fairly easy to refurbish - probably only have stuck or worn brushes and grease gone hard - but the ones you have are likely to be better motors!

If it is, in fact, suffix D-E, the outer tubing is 555754*, 555702*, 575047. If suffix F on, it is 560996,AAU1909, 575047.

    * No longer supplied when my parts book was printed in 1987.

The outer tubing is simply galvanised steel tubing (5/16"?) with simple flared ends bent to shape, so could be easily made, given a pattern.

    John, you are a goldmine!!

Its a suffix G, so it should have the later wiper set up. The previous owner chucked on the shiny white boat motors to pass rego.
My parts book was only showing the suffix D-E part numbers.

    Thanks once again

Hi Jim, I've got no parts for the wipers.
No motor, no gear cable, no wheel boxs, no tubes, for the gear cable, nuthin'
So I kinda require all the parts, if you can do them at a reasonable price.

    Cheers Duncan
