Sorted the problem, just used a little more force.
I have recently purchased a 1963 88" 2a ute and are very slowly restoring to drivability. When changing the oil filter noticed the rubber ring under the bolt head needed replacing.HOW?? Cant figure out to get the new one onto the shaft. Does the spring etc come off? It is the 2.25 petrol.
Thanks in advance.

Thats one of the most important things they teach you on the grease monkey course
"you dont need to force it if you use the right size hammer"
and when you get that wrong the second most important thing comes into play
"It doesnt matter that that bit broke, I had to replace it anyway"
