According to Calvin, it is a Series 2a from 1963-66. Which tends to agree with its appearance if not the identification plate.

The number on the chassis is the only number that will interest the authorities, and it is not at all unusual to have a different number on the bulkhead plate - after all it takes about two minutes with a screwdriver to remove it or replace it. Most likely at some time the plate has gone missing (souvenir?) and has been replaced by any one available, since it also has the transfer lever instructions.

With these vehicles the chassis number is all that is required to be registered.

And seems you have bought an ex Mill as well, congratulations

    Engine Number

Im currently in the process of unseizing/ unfreezing the old 2.25P and during a degreasing session noticed the engine number. Would anyone be able to shed any light on it?

    90267636D

Im quickly finding out that she's very much a franken-rover. S2a Chassis, 2a panels, but maybe S3 ancillaries? Maybe even S3 running gear? Anyway to tell from the numbers on the diffs?

    Thanks in Advance!
