Hey guys,
So I have to replace the rear main seal on the series 2 and was wondering the best way to go about it. I was going to take the gearbox out to replace a damaged bell housing anyway. Can the seal be done without too much drama with the engine in situ? Or should I just pull the engine out?
Cheers Paul.
you dont have to remove the gear box or the engine, it can be done by seperation only but its ugly and difficult.
my preference is to pull the engine and that gives you enough room to work the bell housing/clutch as well.
