I'm reconsidering using the old doors, just because if I put the door pockets on then I have 2 sets of doors with holes in them.Quote:

No problems here mate, many years ago like 40+ when Austin 1800 was a vehicle on the roads in plentiful numbers, I used the door pockets from the front doors off the 1800, and fitted them to my doors left and right, also for roof/turret vents I used the turret vent off an Escort van, methinks maybe somebody at ADE saw my door pocket idea and squirreled it away LOL, anyway cheers Dennis
Recently I had the brake lines for the booster made up so yesterday I dodged and weaved my responsibilities re getting TGC to her training for softball & fitted the lines & bled the brakes. :D

It all went very well & the brakes work although there is a little more travel than normal which is removed on the second pump.
Probably the new shoes I put in the rear which I guess aren't quite the correct radius.
Hopefully a bit of fettling will sort this out.
I also decided to fit the rear view mirrors I bought ages ago.
Not sure about them:confused:
I might see if I can make a bracket to fit them to the doors or something.

The observant among you may notice the I've fitted both Perentie doors.
The passenger side door fitted up nicely with the lock & striker lining up properly first time but the bottom rear is kicked out a bit.
I'm not sure if the door is warped or not or if I can adjust it somehow.
I note you have fitted mirrors on the front mudguards - I gave up on that location for mirrors on Landrovers about forty years ago - they are too prone to damage from overhanging shubbery, and if substantial enough to avoid this, it is the mudguard that is damaged instead.

I've found that to get series doors to fit correctly, a mixture of hammers, lumps of wood, bars, grinders and shims are required in various amounts... :D
Also constant shake due to vibration makes them impossible to use and you see two of everything that comes from behind.Quote:

Yeah, mate, it's a doddle to make a bracket and a much better spot for positioning the mirrors. It's nice to have the original look and all.... but when I realised that my arms were not nine feet long I decided to put my mirrors on the doors. I've never looked back (unless I'm looking in the mirrors).Quote:

Perhaps better though is to make up a stout angle bracket that goes under the bolts of the top door hinge, on the door, so the mirror does not hit the door when opened.

Maybe get some of these hinges if its s2a. I spied these on a doormobile s2 ⤵. If you find some i would like a pair as well😆😆
