Last weekend in preparation for RWC I got in and changed the transfer & gear box oil.
After a cool little test drive I arrived home to notice all of that lovely fresh oil pouring out of the back of the transfer.....BUGGER.
So battling a cold/Man Flu from hell I managed to replace the rear transfer case seal.
While I was there I replaced the oily handbrake shoes as well.

This crappy seal just fell out when I pulled the brake drum off.
I don't think it was ever the correct seal.

Unbeknown to me the handbrake expander has roller bearings which promptly fell out when I removed it.
I found one in the oil catch can but no idea where the other one went (if there ever was one)
So I found an old drill bit, gave it a touch up with the grinder & made one :D

Now all the oil is still inside & the handbrake even works:D
I like the drill-bit roller bearing. Nice little bit of imrovisation.
Isn't it nice to have oil where it should be, not where it shouldn't be and a handbrake to boot?
Had a guy turn up to do RWC yesterday.
"Mate, there's no roof!"
Didn't go well from there on.
He wouldn't even look at it.
Oh well, there goes any chance of having it registered so TBC can drive it around over Christmas. :(
Ooh! What's this?
Matilda's out and about.
WooHoo.:D

Thanks Chazza.
Got it registered on Thursday.
Maybe you can't see the pic in the post above of Matilda at the sports fields :)
I ended up taking it to my firends over the bridge who found some stuff I hadn't noticed.
They had it for a few weeks, fixed what need doing then did the RWC.
Pretty happy to be able to drive Matilda around but it's pretty hot here ATM so daytime topless driving is not too appealing.
Nice one, where what she found, the 2a that is not the Girl Child.
