Still looking for a LWB series 2 or 2A after 9 months

    Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum. I was hoping to join in more after I bought my series landy, but after 9 months of waiting on alerts on carsales, ebay and gumtree I still havent found a LWB series 2 station wagon (got little kids) for sale.

Im starting to wonder if I should import one from the UK perhaps, or if im looking on the wrong websites.

I need to buy one that runs fine as I don't yet have the knowledge to restore one - so hoping to learn as things start to go wrong.

I'd really appreciate any tips of where to find one. I live in Brisbane.

    Many thanks
    Bruce

Found this one, but left hand drive :(

This would be a beauty, if only it was RHD 1967 Land Rover 109 inch series 2 station wagon | CarCave

    There are a few about.
I guess it's about getting just what you want for the price you want.

Looks reasonable. Might need a little work.

Series 2/2a five door wagons were never very common. They were almost exclusively bought by companies and government, and then only in very small numbers.

Private owners almost never bought any Landrovers new for passenger transport until the 110 was introduced.

I have often thought I would prefer to own a 2a wagon instead of the 110, but the reality is that in the fifty years that I have been driving Landrovers (and hence aware of them!), the number of times I have actually seen a 2a five door wagon perhaps a dozen times other than at Landrover centred events.

Series 2/2a used to be commonly seen on the roads during about 1960-1980, but even so five door wagons were very rare. Mind you, short wheelbase wagons were perhaps even rarer, although needing a good look to distinguish from swb hardtops (Australian hardtops have always had side windows) a lot easier to miss.

There is a series three stage one currently on Gumtree on the North side of Brisbane, would need some work but appears to be in not bad condition if you are willing to look at something a little newer and plastic.
