    Nuts, Bolts & washers

Following on from the thread on Facebook, don't know how many of you have seen it?

There's a company in the UK that are selling a complete set of replacement fasteners, I think its a great idea but quite expensive.

My question is, does anyone happen to have a list of what fasteners go where, quantity and what size the are?

    Thanks in advance

    Sounds like a great idea......

You'd have to spend a few hours going through a parts manual to determine all the nuts & bolts needed for a particular model. Even then there will be some not listed.
With some bolts I've found that the exact length is no longer available 'off-the-shelf' (for example 1 3/8" needed but only 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" available).

Are they zinc passivated ? Correct threads (or just nearest available) ? Plain nuts & spring washers or nylocs ?
I think you'd need feedback from someone who has used one of these kits as to how complete it was.

I was following it on Facebook and total number of pieces are in excess of 3,500 and the parcel weighs around 45kg! The concern being that one kit appears to suit all...

However $1,200 landed in Australia is a whole lot of extra consideration...

I'm lucky enough with about 90% salvage on my bolts and nuts and Classic Fasteners in Welland, South Australia have a decent range and pretty spectacular delivery times for an Australian company... I've been ordering missing bits in a piecemeal fashion as the parcels are calculated by weight, not dimension.

    Cheers,

    Lou
