Sorry to have been so slow in following up on this project.
The latest on the restoration is that I can't find the Land Rover.
I'm trying not to think that far ahead, though of course it has occurred to me. It is tempting to try something different, but I am mainly tending towards as faithful a restoration as I can manage. The main thing is to get that front axle out and assess the damage, then I will consider if I really want to make any fancy changes. I can't afford this rebuild getting too costly.
