    Door help please

I have separated door frames and skins to address rust and electrolysis issues
I intend to paint frames and fish oil internally before reassembly
What kind of silicon/mastic should I use between frame and skin, there were remnants of something applied in the factory 50 years ago
I'm thinking silicon but don't know if it will react with the aluminium door skin. I want these repairs to last as I live in a coastal area and corrosion/rust never sleeps
would like to know what others have done
    Cheers Paul

I used a polyurethane automotive adhesive.
Not sure this is going to help against corrosion but holds the skin tight against the frame.

I poured paint into the cavities (after sealing up most of the holes) then drained it out and once dry used fish oil.

Thanks for the info I hadn't thought about pouring paint into the cavities
    Makes a lot of sense

Something like black windscreen mastic would work well, or ask the Sikaflex man what they recommend.

If you really want to stop rust, don't waste your money on fish-oil; buy some Penetrol and then paint over it,

    Thanks Colin
I will read your build thread I'm thinking it will answer a lot of questions I may have.
main issue at moment is retrieving rivet tails from within frame after drilling them out
    May enlarge drain holes

Once you pour in a rust inhibitor, the rivet tails will get glued in when the inhibitor sets and not move around
