Thread: 2a Alternator conversion confirmation

Hi,
Sorry to post about this again, I have my 1967 6cyl Negative Earth series 2a that I want to convert to an alternator.

I've sourced the 2.6 alternator bracket off a series 3 along with an alternator however my local auto-electrician says that he cant get the bracket to bolt on. I've attached a diagram of the bracket, mine is the non-detoxed bracket.

I have been told they are basically the same engine and should just bolt on.

Can anyone who has actually done this conversion confirm that it should bolt on?
