    Air Filter Replacement

    Hi All,

I have a series 2A LWB, and was wondering what sort of replacement paper Air filters are available for a Solex carby on a 2.25L petrol.

    Thanks,

    Spencer

Should it not have a oil bath filter standard , Which is way better than any paper filter in my opinion.
A photo of your set up would help as it might have some other set up ect Holden air cleaner

If your filter is quite small...it may be this one...

The housing for the above A134 looks like this...and the element is approx. 175mm outside diameter, 115 inside diameter, 57mm high. Cross reference to Ryco A134/Repco RAF70/FramCA656.....and these seemed to be standard on NZ SIII's.

Thank you all for the responses.

    My setup is a large cylindrical filter on the other side of the engine bay compared to the carby, and sort of looks like this;

    Thanks for your help,

This is the original oil Barth filter , just undo the clips & remove the bottom section & dump the oil out then wash the whole unit in Kero . then once it has dried out put oil in the base up to the oil level mark & refit the top section .

And easy fix once water flows through it,just refill with oil.

Remember this a couple of times in the good old days, going to school in the floods,if she was puffing smoke out the rear,in deep water, she needed an air cleaner oil top up.

Surprisingly never seemed to damage the petrol engine.

    Hi all,

Thank you so much for your advice on what should be done - just wanting to make sure the old girl gets the treatment she deserves.

It's incredible to hear how rugged and indestructible these little engines were.

    Thanks,

    Spencer
