In trying to understand the 1967 109, it gets a bit confusing given the year and some changes made over that time. Can some one confirm with me:
1) Brakes - it has the single link system? If so is it possible to put the later twin link system in? (for safety)
You can install dual circuit brakes but you need a different master cylinder plus re-piping of course.
2) Brake size - are the drum brakes the larger 11" ones or are these upgraded usually?
LWB have 11" brakes, the 6-cylinder LWB's had wider 11" brakes at the front.
You could add a booster when adding dual circuit brakes. May have to cut the top of the wing to get the LR one to fit or fit a PBR one inline & mount elsewhere.
3) No belts - is it possible to put lap belts (not ones bolted to pillars) and did they come out with that option?
What are the seatbelt regulations in TAS ? Brackets for the floor mounts by each door are readily available. The centre mounts you'll probably have to get from someone wrecking a vehicle (I have some pictures somewhere....)
