Thread: Cuthbertston and Forest rover spotted in NZ

Hello folks .my wife and I travel to New Zealand quite often for the hot springs Last time we were in the South Island , we came across 2 what i would call very rare and collectable landrovers .one was a yellow Cuthbertson tracked long wheelbase and the other was a forest rover with the very large wheels.parked on the side of the road and looked as if they were a static display outside a service station .I think south of Queenstown .I have photos which I hope to download soon to this forum .
The day we came across these rare beasts it was pouring with rain .
They both were starting to look a very tired as a display .Does any body know off these vehicles or their history , it just seemed to be a waste them sitting out in the open exposed to the elements as there were very few of these machines produced.They would have been in the perfect working in that rough country enviroment.
I am bringing this to this forums attention after I saw a fully restored Cuthbertson in the UK coming up for auction and what surreal price they expect it to fetch.
