Holden motor would have been negative earth. Positive earth alternators are almost unheard of.
Engine would have been 2.25 petrol - can't help with gearbox number, but it would have been a standard Series 2a box.
Thanks Paul.
Great work.
Not sure what to do with it yet, just thought i should save it from the Crusher.
Pulled out plugs, all were nice and tanned on the tips, so was running spot on when parked.
Would the Holden motor, with Alternator be Neg Earth ?
Also what motor was originally fitted, to what numbered gearbox ?
Thanks

Thanks John.
Original engine number is 25303910J. This J suffix along with the D suffix chassis number puts you around (post) April 67. IIRC this is when they went to Neg earth as well as the "cranked" handbrake. If you still have the original gearbox, I would be guess it would be an E suffix.
Thanks Paul.
Will look for gearbox number today.
Has the cranked handbrake handle.
Also found same chassis number on the gear change plate.

Gearbox number should be on the upper RH side of the gearbox, just in front of the joint with the transfer case.
