Good find. Some pics and a chassis number should answer some of your questions.

Hi guys, i just bought a swb series 2a and am looking forward to getting it on the road. Its a bit rough around tge edges but is nice and solid. i don't kmow the history, or age yet but it has single wiper motor in the glovebox, a 2.25 petrol and twin fuel tanks. this makes me think 65or younger and ex military maybe?
anyhow, i am looking forward to tapping the massive knowledge base on here and getting it on the road again 😀
cheers gus

Cable operated wipers came with other electrical changes in 1967, but you need to remember that most of the bits bolt on, and a lot could have happened in fifty+ years! A chassis number should answer the age. Pictures welcome.

Hi Gus
Another build thread, cool. Put your chassis number from the plate in front of the gear stick into this decoder and it'll tell you a bit about the year build etc.

And remember, if there aint no photo's, it didnt happen

so as the picks show, it's pretty rough but solid, all in all i am supper pumped about it
on closer inspection, it seems that the rear cross member on the chassis has been replaced? not sure I'm such a fan of the new steel they welded across there......just doesn't look quite right
I don't s'pose anyone knows where I could find the bit to fix?.... short of buying another chassis and chopping it up that is.
also missing the windows, drivers and passengers.....any hints where to find new ones?
Thanks in advance for any help

						Hi Gus
Wow. That looks an ace find. It does look in quite good condition. It should be findable on the REMLR site, if not download their form for registering it, fill in all the details, and send it in.

Thanks mike, I'll definitely be getting onto numbers tomorrow as I'm super interested to find out where it came from originally. While I was swapping tops from ute to wagon for the trailer ride home there was some remnants of yellow paint on the interior?? not sure if they came out yellow but should know more after the numbers come in......
also the wiring is a dogs breakfast so after the brakes a rewire is high on the list, would be great if i could get my hands on wiring diagrams.....surely there are some 2a wiring schematics floating round here somewhere 😀😀😀
