Smile Mount bracket for Lucas DR3 wiper motor

I have restored the wiper motor for my SIIa and am scratching my head as to how it fits to the bulkhead! The later motors are rounded and they fit on a clamp, but this motor has three prongs sticking out to go on a bracket.
Any ideas on how the mount was done? My catalogue doesn't show the Lucas

Haven't seen that 3 prong way unless you mean shaft Plus two long fixing screws. My two motors were ditched & I went for a Suffix D cable operated job with one motor in the "Glove-box" driving the two blades.

I think my replacement was also for a Series 3 as well as a late Suffix D series 2A.

The previous two original motors I seem to recall, were fixed to the windscreen lower frame with the shaft protruding through it & fastened by a Nut + a Lock-nut.

Motors were buggered or needed reconditioning so I tossed them, but it was approx 20 years ago.
BTW, if you have restored it won't the screen frame tell you the story?

Yeah? Never seen one of those holding a Wiper but the grey bit is very similar to a Screen Heater Air Discharge Box. Has it got a Heater in the cab?

Is possible it doubled up as a mount for the wiper motor as they would be approx in the same area. I'm sure someone here could elaborate, but a newie on me.

The motor does not attach to the bulkhead, it attaches to the windscreen frame just above the bulkhead. The three prongs are the shaft and two fixing screw posts for which there are three holes in the windscreen frame. There are also rubber seals and a shaped block that goes on the outside and a semicircular bracket designed to keep the arm off the glass if the blade comes off.

Suffix 'D' on has a single motor occupying about half the LH glove box, which drives both the wipers through a cable and 'wheel box' for each wiper. The 'wheel box" mounts to the bulkhead with a single hole for the shaft in the top rail of the bulkhead. Note that the wiper motor is similar but different between 'D' to 'E' and subsequent vehicles.

You can have real troubles if you try to use a bulkhead and windscreen frame that are one before and one after the change.

    Hope this helps.

(If you want I will try and get a photo of an installation and post it.)

    Thanks John
Yes the motor does take up a lot of room in the glove box. The DR3, the worm and single shaft wipers are all done, and I have the cover to fit over, its just the bracket.
If I cant find find one I will fabricate and post a photo

OK - I misunderstood your question - not familiar with the Lucas model numbers. Unless you are attached to originality, you could attach it to the bulkhead the same way the later one is - a sponge rubber pad with a hoop over the body of the motor and throughbolts into captive nuts an a strip of steel on the other side of the bulkhead. The hoop is simply bent out of flat steel and has a hole in each end and lined with thin rubber.

Thanks John, I knew you would know. As I mentioned I have never seen one but knew you or Gromit would.

Couldn't find a loose one so Pulled on off one I am parting out.
Bottom part of bracket rusted out. Easy to cut off and weld in replacement section.
One of the Special Bolts holding the wiper motor to the Bracket snapped. I found a replacement BA bolt and some nuts so a replacement could be made.
PM your address and I will pop them in the post if any Help to you. Will throw in cover as well if you need one.
Any other small bits needed ?
