    Series 2a demisters

At the Expo I got a pair of demister vents for my 2a. These are the ones that mount on the cover over the wiper mechanism on the later 2as. All I need to know now is exactly where they are supposed to mount - any one know? I might as well put them where they are supposed to go.

John - If I remember correctly, my family's old 2A tabletop from 20 years ago had vents that were mounted just like these:

I just hope that your steering wheel was a little bit bigger than the one in the photo, and also that it was on the proper side

JD They go over the flat section just where the wiper boxes are, so that there is a mount on each side of the flat.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

They normally come with standoff brackets. Did you get those as well?

The ones I got have feet that are shaped to fit in the indentation in the metal, and I would expect them to go over the flat bit - but the flat bit is too wide for them to do that ?? Note they do not look like the ones in the photo, they are more boxlike. I have seen them on a 2a before but did not take note of where they were. I wonder if there are different panels with narrower flat bits?

Resurrecting this thread, and I'm now looking for heater vents for late 2a (single motor).

Can anyone point me in the right direction to acquire some ?

    Thanks

When I needed some a number of years ago no-one in OZ could help, so I eventually got them from the UK. Usual main parts dealers.

If you don't have any luck they are not too difficult to make if you are a bit handy.
Material is a very light gauge steel or Ally so it is easy to work. I actually copied some for a now deceased friend.

No, not when he got the bill I hasten to add, in case someone was going to ask..

Edited. I have taken some photos of mine if you are still interested so they can be manufactured.

No I don't as it was some (read lots of) years ago, but JDNSW seems to have some old Series manuals so it could be found in there.

Better images are at the end of this thread July 2006, from JD.
