Thread: Which heater

The usual ones fitted aftermarket were Smiths or locally there was a similar style one available from Toa Denso.
Smiths are difficult/expensive to obtain but Toa Denso do come up for sale occasionally.

I guess a trip to a pick-a-part type wreckers might come up with something from an older vehicle.

I guess it will depend what your engineer deems as sufficient for the demister (or has the vehicle already been registered ??).

Bbecause I will need to install a demister for the engineer I was wondering if members havehad any experience with these heaters. Also I do not want the demister ducting/outlet sticking out like a dogs balls.

There might be another possible option which avoids having to run air ducts up to the base of the windscreen. Apparently you can buy glass with built-in invisible heating elements: Land Rover – Tagged "Land Rover Heated Windscreens" – heatedwindscreens. I have no idea if these would satisfy your engineer, nor whether they're road legal in Australia - I found out about them from a guy who bought one for his race car. It's what I'm going to try and convince my engineer I should be able to use for a demister, but haven't got round to mentioning it to him yet.
