Thread: Power Loss Uphill (underload)

    Well some success and some frustration.....

    So ran better with new plugs, but I still trailered it to the mechanic!

    Now the mechanic was an interesting character (grumpy snot), what did he do:

    Roadie list
    Advanced the timing
    Told me the problem was the sticking from drum

    But I fixed that in 5 mins and still loosing power under acceleration. However tonight while waking up my neighbours driving up and down my street I pulled the choke out at "bang" the engine ran well (power and no backfiring). Climbed my road and another that quite steep.

    Can i assume that it fuel and the air/fuel mix could fix the issue??

    I think so, sounds like a fuel starvation problem as unlikely to be a too much air problem, unless you have an induction leak after the carby. Also, not sure if it is possible for the choke butterfly valve to slip on the shaft so that it is in the incorrect position, or the choke cable may have to be adjusted.
