    Landrover fire fighting.

I seem to remember someone on Aulro who restores Series landrover fire fighters

I remember years ago having the job of helping Camberwarra RFS in the days before government funding.

They need to replace a current vehicle and my father purchased at auction a Landrover pumper which I got the job of driving it from Sydney down to Nowra and also helped in some of the repair work which was very little as the vehicle was in top condition with low mileage.

They didnt keep it , long as most of the drivers of it couldnt handle the gearbox and generally older tech.
It was replaced by a 80 series Landcruiser and government funded standard RFS trucks.

    attached two pictures of it.

also there is another photo of a landrover fire fighter, which is in the family photos and I know little about it.

I suspect it was looked at as a possible vehicle for the camberwarra RFS as well.

I know these vehicles are few and far between and the pictures may be of some interest.

    Regards

    Ron

I had an ex army one I bought off a farmer here about 20 years ago. Was going to restore it but a member here in Brisbane wanted it so sold it.
I was in the Rural Fire Brigade here at the time and we only had one Land Cruiser and were often in need of another.
So I built one that I used for local jobs that did not require a long road trip.
Retired from the RFB now so my truck is just on standby for home use. Its ready to go with battery on solar and tank full.
I put two transfer boxes in it for 6x6 and a PTO driven pump. It still has the 2.25 LR diesel in it.
    Might need it this year.

    Yes it was Ellard.
He's possibly off on Facebook like a lot of people that used to frequent AULRO.

Photobucket issues have meant that most of his pictures on the forum have been removed.

    Here he is.....
