Your tailgate rear and slightly different colour suggests that the vehicle may have not been a wagon when it left the factory, and the chassis number should give a clue. Does it have the full wagon trim?
hi there,
I've somehow bought my first landy and I believe its a S2A 109 station wagon 6cyl with safari roof + tropical top (4 roof vents). Very keen to meet and learn from other owners of this model. Are there any owners here?
features of mine:
- johnston conversion now with a 186 red
- tailgate rear (not swing out door)
- dual tanks (no idea how the front tank is filled)
- has a bazilllion after market gauges so PO loved he's metrics. lol
- has a Faulls in subiaco distributor placque in the engine bay
- looks like a limestone original car but then has a slightly different colour on top. (some of the interior is bright yellow argh)
- no overdrive
any way. keen to hear from others.
cheers
michael

thanks for the reply. it has a rear seat and rear doors. Any other way of identifying if it wasn't a wagon? also, rear LH rear hanger has these number visible 5200384. Is it possible its a 352?
is it possible that the rear tailgate was swapped out? it has holes where a swing rear door could bolt onto.
thx

Yes, it is possible, and that would make it originally a wagon. Try wire brushing or sanding the area to the left of the "52" to remove paint and rust, and see what comes up.

Yes, the tailgate setup will fit the same opening, and most rear crossmembers are the same as models with the tailgate and have the fixed part of the hinge. It is quite possible that the rearwagon door was damaged and replaced with the far more readily available tailgate and hatch. Just a matter of drilling a few holes.

I can confirm the chassis number now after cleaning the area. It is in fact 35200384d.
also amongst the parts I have a safari rear door so always the option of swapping it back. 😎
From the chassis no is it a 66 or 67? Anyone have an idea in dating Aussie CKD?
thankyou
