Engine noise in 2.25l petrol when warm
As I mentioned in my other thread, I've got two noises coming from my S2 petrol. The first is a gurgling noise from the oil filler, this is the other one. Hoping for any help in identifying them.
This one only occurs once the engine has warmed, and it's a louder groaning noise, sounds like it's caused by friction of some sort, but can't identify where it's coming from. It's audible from the cab as well, and quite loud. Seems to only occur at idle.
I've installed a reconditioned water pump in the last couple of years, so I don't think it's that. The generator/dynamo was out of the car when I got it, it seems to be working properly and i oiled the bearing when I reinstalled it, I can't feel anything that is causing the noise coming from it. I've got 1/2 an inch of deflection in the fan belt as required by the manual, so I think the fan belt tension is ok.
Could it and the other noise both be caused by an issue with the oil pump? There is also some coolant on the ground in the shed, but I'm reasonably sure that's just a loose hose that's weeping with an old hose clamp.
Here are two vids of the noise -
Thanks in advance
