Not really worth going, as they told us nothing that was not on the web. The only real use was talking to the RFS people there - none of them locals - the locals were on overnight.
But I noticed the RH back tyre looked a little soft, so this morning decided to check tyre pressures. All down a bit (deliberately for soft going), but found the RH back was a bit too soft.
Then moved over to the other side. The LH front wheel was covered in oil - and the free wheel hub was about 6mm out from the hub, and only attached with one bolt out of six. This presents a problem. The bolts are 5/16"BSF about four inches long. But need to have 9/16"AF heads (or they could be socket head), as there is not enough clearance round them for a BSF head. Anyone got any ideas? I can make them by rethreading suitable UNF bolts, but it is fairly fiddly to do.
What I have done is to remove the free wheel hub, and put a standard hub on with a new gasket. I'll do the other side when I get a chance, although I am not certain I can find another hubcap in good shape. But I'll leave that until the fire is out. It has the hubs locked nearly always anyway.
Short term, can you share some from the other side? Plug the holes? I know it's not ideal, but.... If the local to me bolt shop could help I could post some to you, or my local indie would have some, as he has a number of wrecks.
