Chassis number should be on the vertical face of the LH rear spring hanger above the shackle - you may need to strip off all the paint.
It should also be on a plate on the inside of the firewall, directly in front of the gear lever, and below the instruments. But since this is held on by selftappers, it may well have been removed, but will also be hidden by any lining.
The number you show on the head is a casting number. The engine number is just to the left of the exhaust manifold, on the sloping bit of the block, immediately adjoining the join to the timing case, in other words, just out of your picture. 
The tail light protectors are military, but this does not mean the vehicle is necessarily - they have been available aftermarket. Same goes for the lights. The sills are readily removed on any Series 2/2a/3 Landrover, so their absence means nothing.
I agree with the others, although for some reason I could not see the interior photos. Series 2 (not 2a), probably 59 if the plate you have found means anything.
