    new front end in place

Finally got a second pair of hands (my father) to give me a hand in swapping the front axle and suspension over. took a couple of hours - jobs done.

Couldn't be bothered cleaning up the springs etc before refitting them so will do that with the in place.

Need to trim the U Bots - they are a tad long

Also need to put some Nylocs on them.

Great work and yes you sure will have to cut off those U bolts.

P.S. Does your dad want to pop over and give me a hand? I have enough restoration work for a couple of lifetimes

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

In my experience the exposed thread on the U-bolts should be as short as possible, as any exposed thread is very liable to damage from rocks etc, making it impossible to remove the nuts. For this reason I tend to use double nuts rather than nylocs (also more secure). Whatever type of nut is used, remember to tighten them routinely, especially for the first couple of thousand miles.
