choke light?

If it is an orange light, it is the "cold start warning light". This is wired via a switch on the choke knob to a thermal switch on the front of the head (triangular, held in by three small studs). It is supposed to come on when the engine warms up if the choke is still out, but often has faults - apart from wiring faults, often the switch is incorrectly adjusted so pushing the choke in does not switch it off, and the thermal switch can go faulty on.
