    Brake Fluid Pot

    G'day All,

    I've just fitted anew master cylinder to the S11A SWB and noticed a slight weep from the bottom outlet of the brake fluid tin pot.

    I've stripped the pot down and it is in good order.
    What should I seal the bottom outlet with??

    Fibre washer, Copper washer, alloy washer??

    Any of them should work, but I would prefer the metal ones as with the fibre one there is the possibility of fibres getting into the fluid, and these could result in leaky seals. I am not sure what was used originally though - mine has been replaced with a plastic one while still in the army.

    Thanks for the advise fellas,

    There were remnants of a rubber seal on the pot when I pulled it down, but I don't have any break fluid friendly rubber on hand.
    I might just experiment with a couple of plastic washer wod punched out of the break fluid container....at least I know it will handle the break fluid......I'll let you know how it goes.

    Any brake service/Parts Coy. should be able to supply a rubber/ fibre/plastic with the desired hole size, or your local friendly REPCO outlet should be able to supply one

    I went to a bearing shop and asked for an O-ring that is stable in brake fluid. It has worked for a number of years now.
