Thanks for that. I thought it may have been an Military vehicle with a chassis transplant.

I have more photos which I will post tonight...I repaired the chassis the other day rather than replace it.

    Cheer Erich

This is a rough diamond but a very very reliable vehicle (until last weekend)

inside view - note the wipers. The hand throttle was in the vehicle but has been removed.

Does anyone know if this box between the seats is original or a later addition.

What went into this patched hole. The fuel filler is about 6 inches (150mm) forward of this.

The capstan was added by myself - still fully functioning. I assume the bar is original. Under the guards and under the bonnet there are patches from the tools and tyre holder, which were once located there.

Solex carby. Does anyone know if the bracket at the left front is original - possibly a second alternator or ???

    Vent for the radio equipment

For a large alternator - the 2a originally had a generator not an alternator, and radio vehicles had an alternator in addition mounted on this bracket.

    Hope this helps,

We have it's close sibling, 25316386c, arn 114 087. Also fft, and customary rusty chassis. Ours was sold off in 1990, some years after yours. Wonder what happened there. All very interesting.

    cheers

G'day All, JD has answered most of your questions correctly, the box is most likely from a bloodbox aka ambulance, there are people out there that would take that off your hands LOL cheers Dennis

Yer I was thinking that too Master Dinty.

Bundy - If you are willing to part with your box, I know Phoenix was after one for "Eden"...

As for the green box between the seats, I will do a bit more research.

As for the country, there have been tough times but presently it looks really good, after some good rain

This is the Talbragar River and after reasonable rains last week, is flowing again, if only briefly.

Crops in the area are also looking great.

    G'day Bundalene

The box between the seats is the operators/commanders operational paperwork/orders bin, used the same way as that on the Ambulance, so it is original, the bracket mounted on the head bolts is for the 24V alternator to run the radios, and charge the batteries which were in a box fitted between the wheel boxes directly behind the bulkhead, and that hole is the battery box vent, are there any tool brackets behind the seats??? as on this model would have had radio antennae tuning boxes on the front guards, probably No 11 tuning boxes, the front brush bar is original Aust Military 2/2a fittment

    cheers
