It was a 4 banger before.

Does anyone know how hard it would be to install a remote brake booster and dual line master cylinder like the series 3.

Michael thanks for the offer I will check out my brakes first to see if the last owner did anything to them.

What was the difference between the 4 and 6 cylinder brakes was it just the width or was it the overall size as well??

    G'day Agrojnr

You should be able to use the complete Series 3 dual mastercylinder/booster set-up, just unbolt the 2a mastercylinder and pedal box from under the dash (6 bolts) lift 1/4 turn and hey-presto, the dual & booster should then just drop in to the same spot, the only difference is the cut away in the top of the right guard, (that allows the booster to fit, but seeing that you have a set of stage1/110 guards it should just drop in, it might be worth trying to get the brake assy from the same vehicle, just get the brake line joiner at the chassis complete with shuttle valve/switch (brake fail) so that you can then split the system to give dual circuit brake The 6 cyl/stage 1 front brakes are 11 inch dia but with 3inch wide shoes and not the 2 1/4 of the 4 cylinder, the brake backing plates differ as well in their set-up, so get them complete, by just taking them off the donor vehicle at the axle housing (backing plate drums and everything inside) bolt them straight up and with the Booster/M-cylinder, Wal-Ah! stage 1/early 110 V8 braking system rears are all the same right through from Series 2/2a to the last of Defender drum system.

    cheers

    Hy Adam
Also forgot to mention,in the PM,You get them 3" drums with the front axle.
When I was sorting my V8 conversion, the update to 3" was mandatory according to the licencing dork, already done on "The Toy"

The only problem in getting the wreck back to perth as I would have to take a day off work to get it.

But saying that I would like to get it just need to work out the money side first.
