Looks great - hasnt been mucked about with much either, which is unusual and nice.
Keep the pics coming!
My Mate found this one in a shed in Brisbane. It had aparently sat for 10 odd years until he rescued it.
Originally delivered by Carlin & Gazzard it is a genuine one owner SWB with 70k Miles. I think it is around a 67 model, (lights in grille not on wings) and fitted with a capstan winch. Also has the original owners handbook and workshop manual.
Apon getting it off the trailer, it was up on axle stands but first to see what would happen we threw a bit of fuel in it and a new battery and hit the starter to see what would happen. After about ten secons it fired up and sat on a lumpy but consistent idle. Then the work began.
Removed all four wheels to discover a lot of leaks, hubs, brekes oil etc. The backing plates were encrusted in a grainy yellow substance, brake fluid and water combo left to sit for ten years is my guess.
Brakes, replaced all the slave cylinders and linings together with new lines, linings and machined drums. (park brake as well) rebuilt the hubs with new seals gaskets etc and reasembled it all. ( a question for the knowledgable? the front hubs are freewheeling and have no internal or external mechanism for locking, 4wd selected and the axles turn but that is it, has any one seen this before?) any way it is now as dry as a desert and stopps properley,
The negine is a 2 1/4 four. Have replaced all ignition components and set the timing properley (6 degrees btdc) Rebuild the solex carb with a full kit, (Do these all leak from below the fuel bowl) and fired it up! Ran like a dog, misfiring all over the place and not cranking over at all when hot. Turned out to be a faulty condenser, replaced and took it for a run. Drives like a new car, pulls cleanly in all gears and up hills in third from 15 MPH with no pinging or complaining. (That gear box with out syncro on the first two gears takes some getting used to huh?)
What else, Have replaced the water pump, clutch and recored the radiator. Starts with some elbow grease on the crank starter.
Will post more as I / we progress and will get some photo's soon. Have not had grease under the fingernails in years (since my fitter and turner days, I am in IT now) but have had a lot of fun with mates working on this and will keep you all updated as work progresses.
Cheers all.

Well done!
She's purdy.
It looks very nice. The free wheeling hubs are probably an "automatic" type, which engages when four wheel drive is engaged and the rear wheels spin. Not, in my view, a very good setup, but widely fitted to Landrovers of that vintage.
