Hello from Canada
Hi! I will be visiting Oz in the near future. I have 2 1960's Series ii 88's.
I am interested in converting to electronic ignition and was wondering if there are any do it yourself kits to build a system to convert or would it just be better to get an off the shelf kit. If so what kind is best
Thanks John

I haven't used one on a four cylinder but I have a Crow Cams system on a V8 and it works superbly. Very easy to fit and very good quality.

How about a transistor assist box that uses your existing points etc, but does the hard work of the points. Kits are available here in Aus if you are handy with a soldering iron. Cost you a whole A$70 or so and field reversable. I used a crude CDI type similar doodad for years.
There's a bit of satisfaction and sense of achievement when you replace points and plugs, time her up and she runs a sweet as sweet in appreciation. with transistor assist you just dont have to do it so often as the points dont erode.
