Recovery points for Series trucks??

Finally mounted the gunnebos onto the front of Basil - a mate at tech made up some steel plates to bolt in behind the bumper - should go ok. Also got the towball off the back :eek: so will use a shackle there.

Can you make the front hooks sit horizontal, not vertical? I would be worried about catching one offroad.

On the rear, most people just use a pin (e.g. made from a grade 8 or class 10.9 bolt) that is held in place by a split pin. Your setup should be fine, but a pin will load the attachment bolts more uniformly.

They spin through 360 degrees, so the only way I can see them being horizontal with the bar is if Basil is on his side....which is not that hard to conjure up in my minds eye...:eek:

The bar isn't wide enough to mount them any higher....

I used 2x 1.5t bow shackles to join both sides of the chain to a 3.5t bow shackle in front of the upright.

1 per chassis rail with a bridal strap.

series Recovery point complete.(works on all leaf spring suspension that has the spring shackle at the outer most side of the chassis)

total cost $25

Could you repost the image of your recovery setup? Not having to fix questionable jate rings or d rings sounds appealing to me :)

As people cannot edit old posts, I'm happy to reinsert the images into their posts if they send them to me.

Would this style work or be strong enough? I bought these ones off this cut-wing but never fitted them to my County.

Did anyone ever come up with a true solution? I can’t seem to see the old images. Have a drop plate and a tow hitch but not suitable for a recovery.
