    Recovery points for Series trucks??

No problems at the back - a decent rated shackle through the towing tongue is fine there, but what to do at the front?

I have a bumper made out of 6mm thick parallel flange channel. but it has the same 4 mounting bolts as a standard bumper. I`ve used one of those 10000lb rated hooks with a spreader plate behind it (bolted to the top of the bumper, but these make me a bit uneasy - if the bolts holding the bumper go, then someone is going to wear 25kg of steel...

The pommie mags all show those swivel recovery points, mounted flush - is there a locally available alternative to these? and wouldn`t they also only be as strong as the mounting bolts (bar to chassis)?

    Pictures would be appreciated...

Not that I ever get stuck and need recovering, but on I occasionally help owners of lesser vehicles when they can`t keep up with me...

I'm not really sure on that one sorry

They don't have the Hayman Reese hitch which makes it a bit difficult

    Sorry

loop a chain through the spring and up and over the top of each chassis rail.

join with a big shackle and you wind up with something like this

I used 2x 1.5t bow shackles to join both sides of the chain to a 3.5t bow shackle in front of the upright.

1 per chassis rail with a bridal strap.

series Recovery point complete.(works on all leaf spring suspension that has the spring shackle at the outer most side of the chassis)

    total cost $25

I've got the standard shackle mounting brackets held on with 4 grade 8 ht bolts. seems to work well for everything I have given them to do yet!
