i must have stuffed something up!
for some reason my land rover restarts after switching off the ignition.
it just splutters back to life for a few seconds and then kills itself.
it is a petrol 2.25 in a series 2a.
can any one please explain why this could be?
thanks. M.R

Sounds like it's just "running on".
This can be caused by a few things, usually mixture or timing. A fast idle won't help either, same goes with the wrong spark plugs.
Have you tried the basics?

yes i have tried the basics, correct plugs, fuel settings as per the book. carb is in good order. i have a spare head gasket here so i might just take the head off and have a look around, clean the chambers and such.
can any one recomenned anything to look for before taking the head off?
