    Who is the best Series III mechanic in Sydney?

    I am really enjoying my Series III which I've had for about a year. I've spent a fair bit on it getting the brakes redone and new seat belts put in. Whilst I've done quite a lot of the cosmetic stuff myself I would like to have someone who really knows their stuff to go through the vehicle to tell me what needs to be done mechanically and the cost. The local garages I use don't specialise in old Landy's and I get the impression they aren't too keen to look at replacing clutches or gearboxes. Can anyone tell me who they rank as a Landy guru?

    Hey Mate,

    I haven't personally had any work done there, but Land Vehicle Spares at Silverdale have a pretty good rep. I've certainly bought plenty of stuff from them and there is always a bunch of leaf-spring landies in his shop.

    Its a bit of a drive though.

    My favourite is Richard at Ayers Automotive in Brookvale. I have been going to him for more than 10 years. A regular nice guy.

    MR landrover on the princess highway at Tempe. Not sure if he still does series vehicles though.

    Yep, LVS is the place to go. Brian & George know their Series stuff.
