    Advice on Batteries

    Hi all, can anyone advise me on what battery I should use on my Series 111? It's fitted with the 6 cyl 2.6 ltr motor.

    I have a manual for my 2.25 Series 2a and it recommends a Battery with at least CCA550

    Unfortunately I don't have a manual for the Series 3 so I don't know what the recommendation is for it. I've been using a truck battery with 670 CCA and thats been working fine but I'd like to know what the correct recommendation is.

    Any help would be much appreciated

    My manual suggests 58-60AH capacity. It doesn't suggest how many cold crank amps it should supply.
    550CCA turns over a V8 so 670CCA is fine.
    I use cheap 60AH 320CCA in the 101.

    The AH is the figure you should be looking at.

    A 670CCA will turn a diesel over, so no worries there.

    My brother has one of these which is amazing! It is a true deep cycle and starter battery in one. His alternator blew up on a long trip one night, he drove a further 200 kms with the headlights on and made it to his destination, the battery was dead flat, but charged again fine and has never looked back. I'm sick of having to buy a new battery everytime one gets flattened too much so I'm thinking of getting one for mine.
