OK, It's not quite what you asked for.
It is a Series III, but I like to own a Land Rover because it can take me to interesting places, not just because of what I can do with it.
So here are a few photos of my Series III, not so much doing interesting things, but rather taking me to interesting places.
Driving up the Old Ghan railway.
Old stock route from Bullita Homestead in Gregory National Park. Yes, I am on the track.
Chambers Pillar near the centre of Australia.
Right in the exact geographical centre of Australia. The Lambert Centre.
In Ross River on the way out from N'Dahla Gorge in the East Macdonnells.

1973 Series III LWB 1983 - 2006
1998 300 Tdi Defender Trayback 2006 - often fitted with a Trayon slide-on camper.
i don't have too many action shots - but here are some from a Stockton trip a few moons ago. Never had more fun in the old girl than in the sand.
looking better with big shoes

Some of you might know the Perth Hills / Kalamunda area.
My son borrowed my Stage 1 to get his 80 series down to the exhaust shop in Midland from Kalamunda. He had just fitted a GM 6.5 V8 from Brunswick diesel (big disaster). He didn't have it all working but needed to get the 3" exhaust system installed so he could run it.
He decided to go down Gooseberry Hill Rd instead of Kalamunda Rd hill because there would be less traffic. Gooseberry Hill Rd is twice as steep as Kalamunda Rd. He had it in 1st gear LR all the way down and it held it OK. The trailer brakes on the hired trailer didn't help much. When he got to the bottom he found that the weight of the trailer pushing him down the hill had bent the gooseneck up.
A few days later when he brought it home he came up Kalamunda Rd, down to 2nd gear LR. I was hoping it might straighten the gooseneck out but it didn't.
The Landy has done a couple of rescue missions when my son and his mates got themselves (80 series and GQs) bogged in the bush near Mundaring.
Hopefully in april next year i will have shots like these!!
Only photo I have remaining of my old SIII V8 Lightweight
